Proscenium Theatre

Tehrik-e-Niswan has produced artistic and socially relevant plays. The plays in its repertoire consist of a variety of forms and styles, musicals, folk traditions, stylised movements as well as modern and realistic. These plays are adaptations, translations and sometimes original plays written by prominent writers of the Urdu language.

Tehrik has consistently struggled to provide high quality entertainment and meaningful theatre.

Mobile Theatre

Since 1981, Tehrik-e-Niswan has also been presenting plays under its Mobile Theatre Programme, in middle class and low -income areas of Karachi. This is Theatre for Community Development specially Women’s Development! A team of performers travels with plays to various low-income areas and Kachi-abadis at the request of NGOs and CBOs working specifically in those localities.
